What makes interior design rugs unique at The Rug Story is the fact that you cannot buy our rugs off the shelf. Each rug is designed and constructed upon request, for each individual project.

Available to Interior Designers and Trade customers only, our rugs are designed in-house, hand-tufted by experienced craftsmen, and shipped to you in under 6 weeks.

We offer 6 designs in our Original Rug Collection and 6 designs in our 2023 Rug Collection.

The designs are simple, elegant, and completely bespoke for your interior space.

DESIGN YOUR OWN RUG

The Rug Story rug designs are available in any length, any shape, and up to a maximum of 10mtrs wide from our standard stock yarns.

You can choose one colour in cut & loop or add a second or third colour. You can design your own rugs by mixing up to three colours in any yarn and the price remains the same.

We also provide the option to mix the yarns. So, if you cannot find the yarn colours you are looking for
in one yarn type, you can incorporate a second yarn.

Not finding what you are looking for? Go fully bespoke with your rug design by colour-matching to your interior. Our rug design service offers the possibility of choosing fibres outside of our standard yarns. Linen, Merino Wool, and mohair are some of the other yarns we work with.

THE RUG STORY RUG YARNS

At The Rug Story we typically use four different rug yarns in our collections. Our rug yarns originate from Portugal where they are hand-tufted into bespoke interior design rugs.

We are proud to work with talented artisans who share our passion for handcrafted and bespoke carpets and rugs.
