BAMBOO RUGS - VISCOSE YARN

The yarns in our Bamboo rugs (also known as viscose) are made from 100% bamboo. Bamboo fibre is an amazing material and is an exceptionally eco-friendly alternative to manmade fibres. It comes from a renewable resource which is fast-growing (it can grow up to 91 cm - almost 3 feet - in one day). Furthermore, it is anti-bacterial, breathable and deodorising. All of these properties make Bamboo yarn a popular choice for the eco-conscious home owner.

QUICK FACTS ABOUT BAMBOO

They absorb carbon dioxide and release over 30% more oxygen into the atmosphere compared to an equivalent mass of trees.

Bamboo requires no chemicals, pesticides or fertiliser to grow and it is so strong, it is often used in construction.

Bamboo is anti-bacterial – it contains a natural bio-agent known as Bamboo Kun which is naturally anti-bacterial. It is so effective that it eliminates and prevents over 70% of bacteria that attempt to grow on it.

It’s also deodorising. Bamboo charcoal is extremely porous and can absorb large quantities of odour causing bacteria, meaning chemical scents are no longer needed. The charcoal can also be used to filter harmful chemicals in water.

Bamboo fibre is breathable and absorbent.

The bamboo fibre cools people down when it’s hot and it keeps people warm when it’s cold.

Bamboo fibres are products of nature and as with all natural products, a slight deviation in texture and colour may occur between dye lots. Where exact colour matching is required, please advise our customer service department and we will forward a cutting from actual production for customer approval prior to shipment.
